Freezin for a Reason in 2016

It’s that time of year again where we come together to support Special Olympics of Colorado. This year is going to be a little extra special. In honor of February 27 being International Polar Bear Day, Special Olympics has partnered with the Denver Zoo to place a pool near the polar bear exhibit for us to plunge into. The 5k will still be held at City Park.

There are plenty of ways you can get involved:

A big part of the Polar Plunge is raising funds for Special Olympics Colorado. Donate to an individual or our team. Whether $5 or $50, Every little bit helps!

Join team MAMA Bears

Raise at least $75 and you can participate in the Polar Plunge. As mentioned above, you will be jumping into a 4′ pool of water. There are heated changing rooms nearby.

Not into jumping into cold water? No problem. Sign up to run the 5K. There is a $35 fee for the run but you can also raise funds to support Special Olympics.

Splash and Dash

Just like it sounds. Run the 5K, then take a jump into the pool with your team.

Chicken Coop

Not into running or jumping into cold water but still want to be involved? Sign up for the Chicken Coop and you can raise funds for Special Olympics and be eligible for incentives and participate in the event without getting cold…. from the water.

The Denver Zoo

As was mentioned, February 27 is International Polar Bear Day! Discounted tickets to the zoo will be $9 if you want to come cheer us on as we plunge into the freezing cold pool set up near the Polar Bears exhibit and then enjoy the rest of the Denver Zoo afterwards.

Last Year

Last year didn’t go as planned, (you can view the video here), but we had a lot of fun and raised $990 for Special Olympics! We have a bigger team this year and with your support we will raise even more. Thank you for your support!
