Martial art is a sport that uses skills to defend one’s self. Martial art is one of the most popular sports in the world. It is also a sport of many popular tournaments like the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), and the Olympics. Martial art was started first in 527 A.D. in India. It was taught by a monk named Tao Mo. Tao Mo taught the monks of the Shaolin temple the 18 Buddhist fists, which is a martial art form that has 9 offensive positions and 9 defensive positions. Later the thechnique turned into the five animal styles of Shaolin. There are different kinds of Martial arts with many benefits, such as Taekwondo, Karate, Jujutsu, Wing Chun, Tai chi, and Kung Fu. Each of these martial arts has different rules and regulations.

Taekwondo is a form of a martial art that originated in Korea. Taekwondo is the art of punching and kicking but mostly kicking. For example, techniques like head height kicks, jumping spinning kicks, and fast kicks. The ranks or ring indicate how good one is at self defense from the lowest rank white belt to the highest rank black belt. There are also various weapon forms in Taekwondo. The examples of weapons that are used in Taekwondo include the Kama, tonfa, Sais, Bo, Escrim, fan, cane, swords, and etc.

Kung Fu is a martial art that requires patience, energy and time. Kung Fu is different than other martial arts in many different ways. It originated in China and it is also known as the Chinese martial art. Karate is a form of martial art that is highly influenced by kung Fu. Jujutsu is a martial art that originated in Japan and is used to subdue someone using only the arms. Wing Chun is a martial art that is relaxed and uses quick arm movements; it originated in southern China. Tai chi is a martial art that is practiced for defense training, health benefits, and meditation and it also originated in China.

Martial arts help to maintain health. The techniques help to keep calm, be relaxed, and be patient. It is also a form of exercise. Exercise helps us to be fit mentally and physically. Martial arts also help to learn endurance. Endurance happens when you do a lot of exercise. When practicing the martial art forms, initially, beginners may feel tired very quickly but as one practices more often, it will get easier and more enduring.

Martial art is a sport to learn self-defense techniques. It teaches how to punch, block, and kick for self-defense in any situations. For example, if someone has a knife and trying to hurt you, you could use self-defense techniques to protect yourself.

Some martial arts forms are slow technically and help to relax and not to feel tired. Slow forms of martial arts help to stay calm by slowing down movements and doing only one move of the form at a time. On the other hand, fast martial arts always forces one to go slow which helps to get every movement right. When you are doing martial arts you don’t have to move fast right away you can take your time and relax while doing the movements.

Martial art doesn’t just help to maintain good health. It teaches you how to use and make power with your body. For example, if you punch someone with just your arm it won’t hurt, but if you combine your arms with your hip you will get a lot of power for your punches. If you combine your hips with your legs your kicks will be really powerful.

In conclusion, Martial art is a popular sport for self defense techniques. It is a sport with many benefits. In addition to helping with maintaining health and exercise, its self defense techniques can protect one from being attacked. It can give you endurance and can make you calm and relaxed. I think everyone should learn martial arts.
